Game crashes when alt tabing while in console. #800

The game crashes when having the console open and trying to copy and paste commands into it. As soon as I hit alt + tab the game crashes

Version of the game is 1.61 GOG. But the issue can be replicated on 1.5 to the latest patch from what I tested

Same here. I have to remember to close the console before leaving the game. Happens even before installing any mods but I only tested while having red4ext installed though. Sometimes it doesn't happen right away, but once you walk a few meters and look around and try again it almost always crashes again.

The problem does not happen if you do that in the main menu of the game (before clicking "Continue")

Just a bit more context: If I set all my graphical settings to low I cannot reproduce this bug.

As soon as I put at maximum settings the crash happens every time I go back to the game. Also found out that the crash has a gpu-crash file and a little more context:

We think we figured out why this is happening and also why #840 was causing crashes. We are working on fixing this.
