+By default the terminal will render using multiple `<canvas>` elements which is better tuned than the DOM at rendering an interactive text that changes often. However, Electron/Chromium are far slower rendering to canvas on some environment, so since v1.24.0, VS Code also provides a fallback DOM-renderer experience. VS Code tries to detect this for you and give you the option to change via a notification but you can also change it directly by setting the `terminal.integrated.rendererType` setting.
