There is now API to use the repository picker microsoft/vscode#102394 (comment) and we should leverage this for 'Cloning a repository in Container Volume'.

To verify:

  • Run Remote-Containers: Clone Repository in Container Volume...
  • The repository picker shows up and Select Clone a Repository from Github in a Container Volume.
