At the moment a warning message is displayed when the commit title exceeds 50 characters or when a commit description line exceeds 72 characters.

However, since the font used is not monospaced, it is really difficult to figure out where the character limit is.

In addition, adding a ruler would help to find that limit.

/duplicate of #93150 which also suggest that monospace is already possible.
