Type: Feature Request

I sometimes use the secondary sidebar to display the document "Outline".
Currently, the Secondary Side Bar is displayed in the main window, yet it is updated based on the active editor, which is a bit counterintuitive.

I'm not sure which is the expected outcome in this case (support a "secondary secondary side bar", update the outline based on the last active editor in the main window etc.), but it's probably not the current behavior.

Currently floating windows are treated just like other editor groups and the main window has certain components that track the active editor across all windows. I think that behaviour is maybe not ideal but consistent and its certainly possible that someone is arranging floating windows like an editor grid expecting the outline to work like it does today.
