Support for WordPress v6.1 and Upgrading to v4.2.0

Evening, everyone. It's been a busy couple of weeks, but I've got two updates for you.

Supporting WordPress v6.1

WordPress v6.1 is set to be released on November 1, 2022 (next week!). I have tested support of my Display Event Location for The Events Calendar (DELTEC) plugin for any compatibility issues with the impeding release of WordPress v6.1. I am happy to report that testing resulted in no apparent compatibility issues. Testing was completed using DELTEC v4.2.0 (the latest release) and WordPress v6.1 RC-5.

Even if you are not running the latest version of DELTEC, I do not anticipate any compatibility issues with WordPress v6.1 if you're running any relatively recent versions (v4.0+) of my DELTEC plugin.

I have not been able to find any information from the The Events Calendar team regarding support of WordPress v6.1. I would recommend waiting to upgrade to WordPress v6.1 for a week or two to see if there are any major compatibility issues between The Events Calendar (or The Events Calendar Pro) and WordPress v6.1.

Please Consider Upgrading to DELTEC v4.2.0

About two weeks ago, two users reported issues when using my DELTEC plugin with The Events Calendar. Namely, the venue name and address were not being displayed in the tooltip of the monthly calendar even when they should have been.

The support thread has a lengthy conversation with some good details. Long-story short, the issue was related to both a bug in my DELTEC plugin and a compatibility issue with The Events Calendar (free and Pro versions) and the WordPress theme builder Divi.

The bug has been fixed with the release of The Events Calendar v6.0.2 and The Events Calendar Pro v6.0.2. In this maintenance update, there were several known issues (the are now fixed in v6.0.2) that prevented a user from obtaining venue information for events. This bug prevented my DELTEC plugin from being able to request venue information (such as the street address) to display in the tooltip.

tldr; Please consider upgrading to The Events Calendar v6.0.2 and The Events Calendar Pro v6.0.2. Both releases contained a large number of bug fixes, and upgrading to the latest version could solve several different bugs you are currently experiencing. Please consider upgrading to DELTEC v4.2.0 as well. There was a bug fix made to help ease some of the issues that were reported. Users have reported that all issues have been resolved after upgrading to The Events Calendar v6.0.2 and DELTEC v4.2.0.
