Some arcin firmwares (mine included) allows WS2812B to be controlled over button 9 pins.
Wiring:
- Connect pin #1 to data IN of the light strip. (Not data OUT!)
- Connect pin #2 to nothing.
- Connect pin #3 to 5V power to the light strip.
- Connect pin #4 to ground of the light strip.
Additional notes:
- WS2812B is directional! Make sure you're connecting to data-in, not data-out.
- You only really need 10-12 lights to have a good & smooth looking "rainbow", as long you have a good way to diffuse them. The acrylic ring in Dao controllers are perfectly fine. You can just cut your LED strip as needed if they are too long to fit under the turntable. See my demo video here with just 10 lights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9fGt4nZhUo
- More LEDs will result in smoother animations, of course. 10-12 is just the minimum.
- There is a limit to how much current the board can supply. Only the first few dozen will light up if you have too many. If you want more, you would need to hook up an external power supply to the LED strip.
