Bug Description

If I have a bluetooth device as the main output and that device disconnects (whether deliberately or not) Mixxx stops playing and even if the device is restarted and reconnected to the computer, Mixxx appears to hang. Tracks are thought to be playing but there is no movement of waveforms and no sound.

The solution was to go back into preferences > audio > query devices and click apply - not ideal. It would be good if Mixxx failed gracefully somehow.

Version

2.4.1

OS

Win 11

Unplugging sound outputs is expected to cause trouble ; )

Might depend on the sound API though.
Which API do you use?

The portaudio library, which Mixxx uses for audio output does not support hot-plugging at all. Hot-plugging must be implemented there, before Mixxx can use it.
