Alternative pipeline to using read_json or from_records?

Really would like to try Modin, but my first steps have been shaky. I want to read in 1M json rows spread over several files. I quickly learn that Modin does not support read_json, nor does it support Pandas' from_records. Can someone recommend a good way of actually getting all this json data into a Modin df?

Happily I found out read_json is supported as long as line=True, which happens to be true in my case.
