Glitches when seeking on safari

When trying out the example in safari both playback and changing between languages is smooth, but when seeking on either of the progress bars it glitches a bit before resuming normal playback.

Is this due to buffering interrupting the playback after seeking? or is it some other reason?
If it is due to buffering interrupting the playback after seek is it possible to pause while buffering (either media elements) and then resume once it's playable already? would it be possible to do this within the library or should it be do outside to also display some buffering UI?
