Current goal

We are planning Q1 OKRs, staffing the team, and allocating the work, with the aim towards a TestNet release.

• Dual balances in EVM accounts? ETH and NEAR -- @evgenykuzyakov
  • ETH accounts would maintain ETH balances by default, but could obtain NEAR by invoking a precompile
  • Retains simple onboarding, but makes it possible to convert ETH to NEAR inside EVM
  • This would facilitate upcalls from EVM to the base runtime, which need to be paid for
• How should we best account for EVM storage?
  • The BetaNet EVM contract last week was unable to deploy more contracts due to having insufficient funds
  • If we change economics, concern from chain team that the sync will take longer for the EVM shard
• Let's kick off these discussions on the forum, and then sync as needed
