Trying to install NUT on a windows machine using Chef. And this is totally not supported (Like executing a script where it awaits a key to be pressed).
Long shot, but:
Can the installer be altered to support silent installations
Is there documentation on installing NUT on Windows without an installer? (which files/registry entries etc are modified)

Sadly, at the moment the effort to support Windows in general was based on a branch made off a very old release (around 2.6.5) and not practically revisited since. I am not fully sure even that the sources and recipes involved are currently available, but did not really look for them so can't honestly answer the question at this time.
As for the general "Can it be done?" - yes, sure: packages for Linux, Solaris, AIX, HPUX, *BSD ports, etc. are installed in a hands-off manner and configured later. I just have no idea how the Windows installer was made.
