It seems there is something wrong with first-time contributor badge now.

Today I've landed two PRs from authors with no badges at all:

#18331
#18343

Both have become contributors after landing. Like that:

Is there some badgeless status between first-time contributor and contributor?

I think this is more like a question to the Github support team?

I've written to Github support, but I thought we may need a notice to be more careful for now with possible unmarked first-time contributors.

We've opened up an issue and asked our Engineers for some help to investigate further.
