Circular reposting in the AI

Im trying to see if these models are good for basically AI storytelling, think like a dungeons and dragons esque type story where the AI asks what the player does and then propels the narration forward.. however, after several responses, it tends to just generate the same thing over and over, no matter what i do, even if i write a new prompt into the text box, the generation aftwards is the same.. anyone else getting this? how did you fix it? I can only reliably get about 8-10 generations before this happens, once it happens the chat is unrecoverable

Try telling it to forget everything said until that moment and start over, from scratch... It uses the context which contains the chat until then.
