nai_get_excerpt references https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/16372, which was closed 5 years ago with the creation of https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_trim_words
#19 will rename nai_get_excerpt to nprstory_nai_get_excerpt for namespacing purposes, but that's all.
