As you can see in the pic below the words "Português", "Français" and "Español" arent correctly displayed at startup. From what i saw in the emu window itself the translation is applied correctly.
This also can be seen in the console, pic below:
The text doesnt fit in the buttons in the left bottom of the Load Rom screen.
I also found that the options window is too small and the translation doesnt fit, see the line before the last one:
It would be good if all windows in the GUI auto-resized themselves to fit the translations since words/phrases in other languages than english sometimes have bigger lenghts.

About some characters being shown incorrectly, it seems to happen in some places but not others (the characters do seem to display correctly in the last two screenshots, although the first of them has overlapping text fields (more about those in the next paragraph). The way non-ASCII characters show up in pairs reminds me of some other software that was decoding text as if it were Latin-1 encoded when it was actually UTF-8 encoded (and indeed, if I type "ñ, ê, ç", encode it as UTF-8, then decode it as Latin-1, I get "ñ, ê, ç" which matches how those characters show in the screenshot.
About the overlapping text, I think the proper solution would be to recalculate the sizes and positions of the fields to be different for each language, but if you really need to use the same positions in all languages, make each field at least five characters bigger in English (even that might not always be enough, but if it makes something overlap by a small amount instead of overlapping by a bigger amount, then it at least makes the text a bit more readable). I'd still not consider the problem solved until the sizes and positions change automatically with the text, but if they are hard-coded, making them bigger can make them a bit less likely to break when translated.
And about text going off the edges without linewrapping, I think the obvious solution would be to implement automatic linewrapping (or, as a temporary solution, letting translators put in manual linebreaks).
