Does increased ram mean increase transcription speeds? Or not necessarily?

I am new to coding and want to learn about transcription code to use a few times a month. I am running with 8gb of ram and want to know if i should upgrade and if it is worth it.

Also, is there a way o use the same code and add speaker identification?
