Can encoded HTML characters be parsed?

This code is generated from an SSG:

The lib I use uses deno-dom to query the elements. I can't find a way to decode the encoded character. This doesn't work:

mermaidBlock.innerHTML = mermaidBlock.innerHTML.replaceAll(">", ">")

In general, should Mermaid be able to parse the decoded characters? That's neater.
