I love this and it reminds me of the way that the Carpentries have set up a nice set of resources for hosting and running your own Carpentry Workshop, including checklists and a website template |

Title
We want YOU to organize a OceanHackWeek! (If you'd like)
Summary
If you've wondered what goes into organizing and running a hack week/hackathon/workshop, join us as we formalize some notes from previous OceanHackWeeks into checklists and notes for OHW23 and beyond, ask us questions about our experiences, and gain experience to run your own OceanHackWeek satellite in the great Ocean Hack Week constellation!
Personnel
Joseph Gum - potential lead, secretary
Specific tasks
Convert notes and feedback to github issues:
Data sets and infrastructure support
We'll make a set of github issues that can be copied and pasted for others to use for their own events. Markdown files that allow people to read the structure. Possibly a csv and use of https://github.com/gavinr/github-csv-tools to quickly import github issues.
The problem
We want to make it easier for people (including ourselves) to plan future hack weeks/workshops, and by taking time during the event to formalize our notes we will do so.
Existing methods
Panic and throw everything together at the last minute (months)
Proposed methods/tools
A public, forkable github repository to quickly setup an event organizing repository.
