Are there any plans to have this as a module for popular web applications, like Drupal and Wordpress ?

Not from me, but I heard people doing such things. Maybe you find something with Google.

Plugins are not the holy grale. If you use for example the GenesisWP (in case of WordPress) theme you have plenty of hooks to conditional load and inject the buttons for example only into posts and at the bottom of the page.
