Class T Amplifier TK2050
I have had several Tripath amps and always liked their sound for the price. The TK2050 from ebay for about 15 USD incl. shipping just fits the case perfectly:
Ebay offers several variants of the amp, I prefer the one with 8 caps by side.
The amp is mounted isolated from the PC case, using plastic bolts M3.
The front side is mounted using two flat brackets. The surface between the brackets and the original distance nuts is isolated with multiple layers of eletric tape, fastened with plastic bolt.
The back side is mounted with L-shaped brackets to speaker speaker terminal bolts. The L-shaped brackets are isolated from the board using plastic bolts and isolating the board surface beneath the brackets with the electric tape.
The original input terminals of the amp are not used, a right angle pin header is soldered into the prepared volume pot holes instead.
The power terminals on the amp are desoldered and power wires soldered instead, leading to the external PSU socket in the PCI-hole bracket.
