What happens if spot instance is acquired by AWS in the middle of execution?

No, AWS allows max to 2 minutes for the instance to wrap-up, so depending on your job duration this is probably not enough to finish.

As @crohr says, the service will just be terminated. The job will bail with "Lost communication"!

error looks like this - however, maybe you haven't set the instance_allocation_strategy which makes this issue all but go away if you set it to price-capacity-optimized (will be some % more expensive).
