Privacy Policy
This privacy policy outlines what data Bloxstrap may collect, what services it uses and may exchange this data with, why these services are used, and how they are used. We do not collect any personally-identifiable or otherwise sensitive information.
Apologies if this sounds eerily corporate - we're just trying to state this as formally and clearly the best we can.
The privacy policy will often change as new versions of Bloxstrap are released. See it for past versions here:
- Privacy Policy for Bloxstrap v2.8.0 (→)
Bloxstrap interacts with GitHub for:
- Checking for and downloading of automatic updates
- Downloading mod presets that are too large to have embedded into the application (currently located at bloxstraplabs/rbxcustom-fontemojis)
Bloxstrap interacts with Roblox for:
- Obtaining bootstrapper behaviour settings
- Checking for updates to the Roblox Game Client
- Obtaining information about the game you're playing for Discord rich presence and game history
Bloxstrap will also interact with either Amazon Web Services, Akamai, or Cachefly for downloading the Roblox Game Client.
Bloxstrap may interact with Microsoft for downloading the WebView2 runtime, if you choose to install it when prompted.
If you have enabled the option to use activity tracking, Bloxstrap interacts with ipinfo.io for providing you with a rough identification of your server's geographical location via its IP address.
By your choice, Bloxstrap may collect and send analytical data. The data we collect is incredibly minimal, only as stated here, and completely anonymous. We use our own in-house analytics system which is part of the Bloxstrap website (bloxstraplabs/website).
This section will likely change with every version that's released, so keep an eye out on the post-upgrade release notes, where any changes will be specified.
Here are the specific data points we currently collect, and why:
-
Bloxstrap install states. If you install, uninstall or upgrade Bloxstrap, it gets recorded. It's just for general usage figures.
-
Roblox channel enrollment. If you're enrolled in a Roblox channel, Bloxstrap will record it when launching. This isn't actually for Bloxstrap, we do this to get an insight on what stuff Roblox is working on and rolling out.
-
Bloxstrap exceptions. If you encounter an error within Bloxstrap then it will be reported to us, along with diagnostic logs.
With each data point we collect, we also record information about the version of Bloxstrap you're using.
