[Bug] Many profile photos fail to load on fresh install #1670

Ok this was happening but I can't make it happen right now.

Steps to reproduce:

Uninstall the app
Reinstall
Create a new account
View the Discover tab
Issue 1: the profile photos do not automatically load until scrolling starts
Follow some accounts
View the Home feed
Issue: Profile photos and display names do not load for many accounts

Seeing this on the latest production build.
