Hello,
I also share my concern with the app and see this forum appears as being no longer responded to by developers.
This morning I woke with a youtube video that had started by itself, after enabling karabiner last night to work with my USB keyboard.
I searched for info about the app and saw the problems others have had. Then used the uninstall button in the app interface, as suggested in a previous post. After uninstalling, the karabiner event icon still appeared in my menu bar, which could suggest there is still karabiner software on my machine. Though I have searched for remnants with the terminal as suggested in a post and nothing was found and after a restart, the event icon hasn't appeared. Hopefully this has fully cleared the app.
I see that others have been having problems of a similar nature and reports of problems with reversing keys and in one case damage that appears to be irreversible.
For myself, I feel it's best to not install this for now.
