The Original Prusa XL is called a MULTITOOL 3d-printer by the manufacturer.
In fact, at this stage, it is a multicolor / multimaterial printer rather than the promised multitool printer. But the culprit is not the printer. The culprit's name is Prusa Slicer!
By "multitool" I understand the printheads as tools (which coincides with the name, Prusa uses for them). But what is really "multi" with them? Yeah, you can use up to 5 identical tools within one print job.
And there is the problem: Theoretically you could put nozzles with different sizes into your tools. Why theoretically? Because Prusa Slicer does not support the tools having nozzles with different nozzle sizes: Crap!
My XL's predecessor, a Ultimaker 3 with Cura could use different nozzle sizes in it's two printheads without any problem. That was beyond 6 years ago!
Currently Prusa Slicer denies the XL a quite unique selling point, by neglecting the use of different nozzle sizes. Too bad and time to change that - high time!!! That would make the XL absolutely standing out against Bambu and others with multicolor capability.
Describe the solution you'd like
Make Prusa Slicer capable to support different nozzle sizes within the same print job! Don't loose further time!
