Version

Version 2.3.1+ win64

Operating system type + version

Windows 10 (build 19043) 64-bit edition

3D printer brand / version + firmware version (if known)

Irrelevant for issue, but Prusa i3 MK3S &MK3S+ MMU2S

Behavior

Problem with launching PrusaSlicer.
I recently got a new monitor that I plug into my computer (3 monitors in total) where one of them is vertical. After I installed the monitor, I noticed that whenever I tried to run PrusaSlicer, it would be unresponsive. The setup generally went like this

  1. Opened PrusaSlicer Software
  2. Opening UI loader would pop up. This is the one with the example images on the printer
  3. Actual PrusaSlicer software would pop-up. This is the regular one where you can slice objects (has tabs like Plater, Print Settings, Filament Settings, etc).
  4. PrusaSlicer software would immediately become unresponsive.

I tried reinstalling PrusaSlicer two separate times and it didn't help the issue. I tried browsing the forums for some "non-responsive" fixes and they didn't help either.

What I finally realized was the issue was PrusaSlicer trying to load on my vertical monitor. Whenever I unplugged that particular monitor and opened PrusaSlicer (using either of my 2 landscape monitors), there were no problems whatsoever. When I plugged in that vertical monitor though and PrusaSlicer tried loading on that vertical screen, it would freeze.

I do not need any additional support for this issue, but thought I would pass along the bug. Something regarding PrusaSlicer trying to do the initial load/setup on a vertical monitor caused an indefinite loop and made the software non-responsive.

Project File (.3MF) where problem occurs

Irrelevant

Seems to be similar to #6287 and #5977.
