What is your issue?

We have accumulated a good number of bug fixes on main. Can someone volunteer to manage the next release sometime soon please?

It would be good to get #9136 in.

I'm guessing that means we officially expose DataTree in a later release? From what I remember, there's still quite a bit to do before that.

Edit: I'll volunteer as release manager, though if any of our newer maintainers want to try I can help out.

Maybe @scottyhq and @JessicaS11 wanna do this at SciPy?

Yes don"t wait for DataTree on this one (hopefully we'll just release again in a few days)

Is #9136 (comment) a release blocker?

is there anything else that would block the release? Otherwise I'll do that today.

The release is on PyPI, but reopening so we can track the conda-forge package
