Override HTML5 input for type=input.DATE with the jQuery UI datepicker?

Sorry to bother you again with the issue about date formats. However, after some further research it occured to me that the date format could be forced through the use of an external datepicker and since PyWebIO already incorporates jQuery, using the jQuery UI datepicker seems to be the most logical pick. Any idea if this achievable?

I successfully loaded jQuery UI but haven't gotten any further.
