Session timeout causes edits to be lost

If you are in the midst of making a large edit to a wiki page and your session times out, when you try to save your work you will be redirected to the login page and your work will be lost. This is annoying.

I know the session timeout is configurable, so the obvious workaround is to just set a really long timeout, but a better solution should be found.
