#886 implements the system tables by collecting data into rows Vec<Row> on Meta and then send to compute nodes. This path is pretty special, for both meta and compute node.

If no better approach found, I would agree with it... That's why it's still hanging there.

Is there agreement reached for implementing system catalogs?

It has many parts that can be implemented independently by interns and community contributors, after the fundamentals are set up. 😄
