blogdown::new_site errors (something has to do with encoding characters)

Please close this issue if already addressed, but I could not easily find a straight solution. So odd; my encoding is set to UTF-8.

Hi @jooyoungseo,

I don't know about this specific error which seems encoding related. I can't reproduce on my site this specific error. However, using a new Academic theme with blogdown is currently not possible. See #638 which we can reproduce.

We will deal with making Academic work again with blogdown (if possible) in the issue there. I'll close this one so that we have only one to track.
