0.43.0 release ETA? #1663
Comments
Hi, sorry about that. The short summary: I think I’m currently the only active maintainer (see #1651), and I generally only do maintainery tasks at work, where I’ve been busy since the start of the year. I think in my mind I’ve been waiting to see if async/await will land but the unreleased changelog has already stacked up quite a bit. So I’ll do a release as soon as I can. |
#1667 is the last PR I want to land before I release a beta, and I'd like to keep the beta period open at least a week. The async/await changes are very intrusive (and there's no way to get around that) and I want to help get people to test it without immediately turning around and building urgent patch releases. |
Thanks for the update; I appreciate that. |
Can't wait for it |
Now that #1667 has landed (:tada: ), I guess we're getting pretty close! Are there any plans to put the 0.43.0-beta.1 up on crates.io for people to try out? |
Yep! I decided to sleep first :) |
Haha, good choice! Mind pinging here when you get around to it? No rush from my side at all. |
v0.43.0-beta.1 is now available on crates.io. I've set the due date for the milestone to 2020-02-20, and I'd like to release it then. That should give folks a good amount of time to test (and a full week after the next TWIR issue where my blog post asking people to test might be listed). If there are bug fix PRs, I will cut new betas. |
I'm using the v0.43.0-beta.1 with great success. I have a suite of great wrapper libraries for ecr, route53, s3 all working well. Just wanted to chime in with positive news :) |
Thank you, great to see this released! |
I apologise for my impatience but it's been 2 month since 0.42.0 and I was hoping I might be able to get a rough ETA on the 0.43.0 release.
The milestone has no due date and I could really use the new support for web identity provider.
Thanks and again sorry for my impatience.
