In PolyWorks it works like this:

in default mode picks nearest vertex colour
with SHIFT pressed, picks colour at the current position of the cursor
with CTRL pressed, moves selection as in selection tool

nedik added Type:Enhancement help wanted Platform:All Priority:High labels

nedik added the Difficulty:Easy label
