Readme

This example is designed to help developers deploy a REST API written in Rust and deployed to AWS ApiGateway as a LambdaRestApi

Technologies used:

Build lambda zip

cd lambda/api
docker run --rm     \
    -v ${PWD}:/code     \
    -v ${HOME}/.cargo/registry:/root/.cargo/registry     \
    -v ${HOME}/.cargo/git:/root/.cargo/git     \
    rustserverless/lambda-rust

Run main locally

cd lambda/api
cargo run --bin main

Run lambda locally

cd lambda/api
unzip -o \
    target/lambda/release/bootstrap.zip \
    -d /tmp/lambda && \
  docker run \
    -i -e DOCKER_LAMBDA_USE_STDIN=1 \
    --rm \
    -v /tmp/lambda:/var/task \
    lambci/lambda:provided.al2

  • npm run build compile typescript to js
  • npm run watch watch for changes and compile
  • npm run test perform the jest unit tests
  • cdk deploy deploy this stack to your default AWS account/region
  • cdk diff compare deployed stack with current state
  • cdk synth emits the synthesized CloudFormation template
