CODE OF CONDUCT

All participants of Frontendweekly are expected to abide by our Code of Conduct, both online and during in-person events that are hosted and/or associated with Frontendweekly.

The Pledge

In the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we pledge to make participation in our project and our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

The Standards

Like every technical community, the Frontendweekly team and community is made of a mixture of professionals and volunteers working on every aspect of the mission - mentorship, contributing, teaching and connecting people.

We appreciate diversity, which is our huge strength. This however may also lead to some issues and unhappiness. It is on this note we created a few ground rules we ask people to adhere to. This rules applies equally to founders, mentors, contributors and those seeking help and guidiance

This code of conduct applies to all spaces managed by the Frontendweekly project

Examples of behaviour that contributes to creating a positive environment include:

  • Using welcoming and inclusive language.: We as a community are working toward supporting people from different backgrounds and identities, so you should be kind to everyone irrespective of differences.

  • Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences. We will definitely not agree all the time, but disagreement is no excuse for poor behaviour and poor manners. Lets endeavour to keep in mind that a community where people feel disrepected, uncomfortable and threatened is not a productive community. Therefore, members of the Frontendweekly community should be respectful when dealing with other members as well as other people outside this community

  • Gracefully accepting constructive criticism. Your work will sometimes be criticized, but we advocate for criticism to be constructive in nature and not destructive or condemning. Accepting constructive criticism gracefully when they come is important for your growth and the community's

  • Being careful in the words that you choose and how you address people. As a community of professionals, we conduct ourselves professionally. Be kind to others. Do not insult or put down other contributors, participants or members of the community. Harassment andd other exclusionary behaviour are not acceptable.

  • Being considerate.

Examples of unacceptable behaviour by participants include:

  • Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, public or private harassment

  • Publishing others' private information, such as a physical or electronic address, without explicit permission

  • Not being respectful to reasonable communication boundaries required in a professional setting.

  • Attacking personal tastes

  • Bullying a personal for their mistake or choice of approach.

  • Other conduct which you know could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.

Enforcement

Violations of the Code of Conduct may be reported right on the spot where violation was committed. All reports will be reviewed and investigated and will result in a response that is deemed necessary and appropriate to the circumstances. Further details of specific enforcement policies may be posted separately.

We hold the right and responsibility to remove comments or other contributions that are not aligned to this Code of Conduct, or to ban temporarily or permanently any members for other behaviours that they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

In the meantime, be kind, compassionate, patient and respectful to everyone here
