I'd like to make a feature request in order disable \bfseries at all. Or is there already a way to achieve this?

Currently, the only way to disable \bfseries is by doing it yourself (with something like \let\bfseries\mdseries).

I might make the weights arbitrarily configurable in the future, with an option like bfseries=regular. I'll keep this issue open until then.
