I started researching in 2007 and have written about 200 scientific papers (ORCID | Scopus | Web Of Science | Lattes).

This long run as a principal investigator with a great research international team led me to analyze data from several study designs, from computational simulations to randomized clinical trials. So I started thinking about self-publishing topics related to statistics, epidemiology, and research, targeting students and researchers like me who struggle to find clear content backed up by classic and up-to-date references. This content is now being compiled in the book Ciência com R.

In addition, my 8 years of experience in leading a Postgraduate course in Brazil. Also, my role in national agencies for research in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences showed the importance of a systematic way of presenting research output and the impact of our group. Altogether, they winded up in an open-source platform - the Observatório - that is now being used by several other universities across Brazil to show their research output and impact.

Most recently, I winded up to make the R scripts used in my research available as Shiny Apps. Already available is an app for analyzing soft tissue displacement from ultrasound images using the UsIA app.
