Hello!

My name is Linn, and I work professionally in the web/app-dev industry but do open source work and contribute back upstream to packages I use as time permits. I'm from Sweden, but have recently ended up traveling around Europe by train somewhat. Mostly to Germany where a partner lives.

I'm skilled with TypeScript, Web standards, NodeJS, and React/ReactNative. I love rabbit holes and when I don't have a strong end goal, I often get stuck in the nitty gritty of my tools to see if I can figure out how to do something that is of very limited benefit, just for the challenge of seeing if I could figure out something tricky.

I want to continue with Stimbox (repo), a neglected passion project by and for neurodiverse people that I wish I had more energy to spend time on.

I also wanna build the t4t (Tools 4 Types), typescript library I started with a friend. I often find myself making utility types and helper functions that makes working with typescript a lot more streamlined in my projects and I wanna use all the things reinvent and iterate on in one place where I can access them and make them available to others. Hopefully people will find it useful, and even contribute their tools as well!

I recently (time of writing, spring 2023) got a MIDI keyboard and it has sparked my interest in the MIDI control format and what could be done with that. So I may have ideas for projects using that in the future.

Personal growth-wise, I wanna learn Rust. Being proficient with a high level language like JavaScript/TypeScript, I find myself somewhat limited in the scope of my imagination. So I feel like a language that compiles and can do "performance at scale" would be a great tool to add to my arsenal and open up a new world of solutions that I couldn't imagine using my current toolset.

If you find something I've done worth throwing money at, I'm not too proud to refuse to accept it, but I'm not expecting it, nor am I hingeing my contributions to the community on fiscal support.

If, unexpectedly, I'd end up making more than pocket change through sponsors and the like, I may become less dependent on my day job, and be able to dedicate more than "whatever I time I can spare on my free time" by reducing my hours at work to things I actually enjoy, which would be open source projects and stuff. I don't expect to get there, but if you wonder "what would a potential outcome of throwing money at Linn" be, the outcomes are as follows:

  • I eat more pizza
  • I buy something cool I wanna buy
  • I reduce my dayjob work hours to focus more on my passion projects

I enjoy having the ability to throw some money at someone who've made my life better/easier as a sign of gratitude and support, so my primary motivation here is to give that access to others. I see this more as a tip jar than anything I depend on.
