Become a sponsor to Kartoza Open Source Geospatial Solutions
Kartoza is a geospatial solution provider, servicing individuals, companies and governments around the world who are looking to leverage powerful software and advanced expertise to solve geospatial problems. Our superpower is being part of the Free and Open Source Software movement, which guides our culture and the software we use and make. We have a proven track record in precision agriculture, disaster risk reduction, biodiversity information systems and many more domains.
Kartoza was founded in 2014 with the vision of normalising the use of Open Source GIS technologies in all spheres of business and society. We offer bespoke desktop, web and mobile development, deployment, hosting, support, maintenance and training with FOSS GIS such as QGIS, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, GeoNode and GeoServer. We have thirty staff in ten countries (in early 2024) and are registered in South Africa and Portugal.
While we do profit from commercial work, a significant proportion of our time is spent maintaining Open Source projects, building communities and interacting with users. We would be most grateful for your sponsorship as it will enable us to dedicate more time and resources to the Open Source software we and many others love, and to improve documentation, service, technical debt and other aspects that are often neglected in the absence of funding.
Kartoza has been instrumental in the development of various high profile Open Source geospatial projects. For example, we contribute to and provide project leadership in QGIS (https://qgis.org/) and a large number of different in-house developed Open Source projects as can be seen in our GitHub repository at https://github.com/kartoza.
Some popular Kartoza projects that we spend a lot of time on:

- GeoServer in Docker: https://github.com/kartoza/docker-geoserver
- Biodiversity IMS: https://github.com/kartoza/django-bims
