I am the founder and lead developer at Finnovation Labs. We exist to support and create real innovations and consumer benefit in finance by use of better technology.

We are proud to introduce new open source software Open Banking Connector (OBC, https://github.com/finlabsuk/open-banking-connector) which makes it easier for startups and banks to consume and test UK Open Banking APIs. The idea is to provide an interface layer which allows a bank to test e.g. their own Open Banking API or a startup to e.g. access bank Open Banking APIs. The interface layer manages Open Banking connections including consents and tokens and as much as possible absorbs the complexity of dealing with multiple Open Banking standard revisions. It also provides hooks and overrides to handle how different banks have interpreted these standards.

In addition to Open Banking Connector, we provide consultancy, support and companion software to help companies use and host Open Banking Connector.

A particular piece of software we have developed is Open Banking Test Kit. This is a set of example test scripts that test Open Banking APIs via Open Banking Connector and is designed to be used and customised for automated testing. The scripts are written in TypeScript/Node-JS and use best in-class libraries (Jest for unit tests, Puppeteer for automated user authorisation). Example code for integrations to a growing list of UK banks is included. Sponsors making a commitment to sponsor for at least 12 months receive access to the Open Banking Test Kit repo and a licence to use the software for the duration of their sponsorship*.

We are also pleased to offer sponsors the right to book one day of complementary on-site consultancy/training/support from Finnovation Labs during each 12-month period of sponsorship commitment**. (Location must be in the UK. Travel and accommodation for trips outside of London will need to be re-imbursed.)
