Hi there! 😁 I'm Sam Vervaeck, a software developer from Belgium. Regrettably, ever since I've had my first successful build, I don't know how to quit programming. I discovered the kick of programming in my young teenage years, and I've been working on all kinds of random pieces of software almost every single day.

What do I write? I love building software that helps other people build better software. Think of compilers, interpreters, build tools, automation, ... I think there are a lot of awesome initiatives, but also a lot of room for improvement. Security is my primary concern. How can we avoid leaks and make existing software more robust? My programming language Bolt will hopefully one day help address at least a part of these concerns.

Aside from programming, I love reading about physics and all the weird stuff these scientists spending their days unraveling the universe discover. I also make various attempts at getting better at advanced mathematics, but right now I have yet to find a good studying method. Very occasionally I play piano, and take vain attempts at creating my own Two Steps from Hell-like music, like this one (please don't judge).
