[Kyocera Digno 4] Unable to submit text on system apps #423
Comments
Kyocera phones run heavily customized Android versions, making them very difficult to support. All apps are build to run together, including the native keyboard, so 3rd party keyboards like TT9 may not function so well. I don't think it is possible to make the status bar appear correctly (where you see the input mode: Kanji, Kana, English or Numbers); neither I believe TT9 can integrate with the soft keys and make them appear as: "Menu" "Done" and "Emoji". Or maybe there is a way, but I won't be able to figure it out remotely (I don't have a Kyocera phone). However, if you have technical skills, you are welcome to experiment and share your findings here. I am not very keen on doing customizations for non-standard phones, but it if it something small, it may find its place in the However, as of now, I can't offer any solution. Not unless I have the Digno 4 in my hands. |
@Subspiria , please try out v29.15. I have attempted to fix the problem there. Any feedback will be much appreciated. |
@Subspiria, during the past two weeks, I have done even more improvements in key handling. I am not sure about the soft keys, but OK should be working as expected, I think. Could you please try out the new v30.0 and report back how well it works? |
@sspanak I'll give it a test as soon as I can :)) thank you! |
It appears that version v36 hasn't resolved this problem yet. |
Then, I won't be able to fix it by guessing what is wrong. Anyone who has this phone and technical skills, feel free to debug and propose solutions. |
Having trouble with TT9 in system apps on the Kyocera Digno 4 running anrdoird 10. When submitting text to the field, there is no option to submit "Done" as the system keyboard presents (screenshots included for clarity). I'm unsure if enter to send would solve this, or if this is an issue specifically with how the digno 4 handles other input methods. Having this issue when using the browser.
Additionally, when attempting to type in notepad, or name groups in contacts, the field opens for input but will not accept any inputs from the TT9 keyboard.
Edit: The main issue seems to be the missing "done" button that's present in the stock keyboard
