Right now, start is initiated when saving as .wav

It should just run the program in the background with no sound.

@pikurasa pikurasa changed the title Why does it perform whole thing for .wav? Start is initiated when saving as .wav? Feb 28, 2018

I am not sure we can do this. I think the wave file is generated from the synth output.

What is recorded is not the same as what is played. (It sounds better, at least on my machine, than what is played with start, which is good)

Also, I thought that it previously made .wav without playing the sounds (like lilypond creates the .ly with playing sound)

@eohomegrownapps can you help us out? Is it possible to generate .wav without simultaneously running all start blocks?

@walterbender is right in that the wave file is generated from the synth output - there's probably a way to temporarily mute the synth output whilst still generating the wav file, though. I'll try to look into this over the weekend.

@pikurasa I think the reason it sounds better is that the playback is based on the "compiled" code.

Can it please display "Your recording is in progress" (or something to that effect) so that the user is sure that it is doing what was asked?

Right now we do not have "save as .wav" so I will close this for now.
