Spacemacs crashes on OS X when the system starts to sleep #2315
Comments
@TheBB no idea what this is about but can we put an OSX tag on it? |
Does anyone has 10.10 to try to reproduce? Also, @x-ji could you please check if it's happening without Spacemacs? Because I feel like it might be related to emacs itself or emacs-mac port. So if it's happening without Spacemacs - it would be good idea to report it to emacs-mac maintainers. Otherwise - we'll bother you with some questions :D |
I have 10.10, this has never happened to me. My computer is put to sleep all the time, with emacs open, and there has never been an issue. EDIT: I also use the key-combination reported by OP. |
Yeah, I use it this combination as well + using additional monitors (not always). And never happened on 10.10 (nor on any other version of OS X). |
@d12frosted Sorry I didn't really have time to try to reproduce it using a vanilla emacs recently. I'll do it when I get the time and see what happens. I suspect it might have something to do with certain packages. |
Similar issue happens to me. Using OSX 10.10.5, no external monitors. Only thing I can seem to connect the crash to is running racket repl from racket-mode. Crash report below:
|
I see this same issue in Spacemacs 0.105.16 emacsformacosx build 24.5.1, but I saw the same behavior on OS X 10.9 and earlier 24.x emacsformacosx non-Spacemacs installs prior to switching over to Spacemacs. No external monitor, no repl running. |
Does it still happen on latest GNU Emacs? |
@d12frosted Sorry I'm no longer on OS X (switched to Ubuntu) so I can't say anything about it. Maybe the others will be able to provide some feedback. |
Speaking for a group of 3 people using Spacemacs on macOS, we never experienced this issue. (macOS 10.13.4, Emacs 25.1/26rc1, current spacemacs develop branch) |
Thanks for the comment. This issue is quite old. Guess it isn't happening with the current macOS + Emacs combination (I have a Macbook now and this doesn't happen either). I'll just close the issue. |
I'm using
emacs-mac-port
(GNU Emacs 24.5.1 (x86_64-apple-darwin14.3.0, Carbon Version 157 AppKit 1347.57)) on OS X 10.10. Now almost every time I enter sleep mode usingOption + Command + Power
, Emacs crashes. (I see crash log upon re-activating the computer, but the timestamp says it crashed as soon as sleep mode was initiated). It has been happening for a while and I haven't been able to figure out why. I usually connect to external monitors but I'm not sure that's the issue. The following is the crash info shown.
