Let's start with standardizing JSON modules cross-environment; it's unclear what the registry would mean as the JS ecosystem evolves.

I'm going to land this for now, just so that the main branch focuses on the parts that are more or less agreed on, and we can keep discussing cross-ecosystem compatibility in issues. |
