Releases: timelapseplus/VIEW
v1.8.3
v1.8.3 - 2020 February 27
Minor update to v1.8 stable release with some bugfixes and new additions. For more info on v1.8, see https://github.com/timelapseplus/VIEW/releases/tag/v1.8.0
New
- Added support for MIOPS Capsule Slider via BT
- Configurable padding time for external interval motion (Settings->Motion Equipment->AUX2 Sync Setup->Ext. Int. Motion Time)
Fixed
- Corrected a rounding error that sometimes cause the shutter speed to be limited to 1/3 less than it should for the interval
- For the Sony A7IV, ISO setting is now verified and retried if it failed to change (sometimes happened when changed too soon after capture)
- External motion padding time is no longer added to the camera's required buffer time -- instead the greater of the two is used, allowing motion to take place while the camera and VIEW are processing

v1.8.0
v1.8.0 - 2020 February 6
Finally, v1.8.0 stable release! This has been a long time in coming, mostly due to trying to keep up with all the new camera releases and needing to switch earlier than planned to the new camera driver in order to better keep up. The new driver included in this release is now at a stable point and should perform very well across the range of supported cameras. It's faster, allowing shorter intervals and is also much easier on the development side to maintain and keep up with new cameras, so it's in a good place to continue moving forward from here.
The documentation has been fully updated for v1.8.0: https://docs.view.tl
New
- Support for a wide range of new cameras (Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fuji, Olympus & Panasonic)
- Entirely new high-performance USB camera driver: shorter intervals, more reliable [1]
- Updated bootloader and power-on sequence [2]
- Scheduled and long-term time-lapse via the app
Updated
- Improved wifi firmware update process
- Better wifi management and reliability
- Big improvements to keyframe motion and focus control through the app
- Ramping algorithm improvements (starting exposure decoupled from post-transition exposure)
Experimental
- eMotimo ST4 support
- DJI Ronin S support
Additionally, hundreds of bugfixes and minor UI enhancements have been made.
[1] Use of the new driver is highly recommented, as the old one will no longer be updated. Most cameras should work much better with the new driver, but if you find a problem, you can still switch to the old driver in Settings->Camera Driver (if you need to, please let me know at elijah@timelapseplus.com)
[2] It no longer powers on automatically when connected to charge; when the power button is first pressed it will flash -- continue holding until it becomes solid to power on
