Dear All,
Welcome to our open-source community. We are happy you are here.
If you are new to GSoC and open source, I recommend going through the presentation at https://pradeeban.github.io/projects/ That answers most of your questions.
Please feel free to introduce yourselves under the Discussions
If you have specific questions about the project ideas, each project idea is listed with a Discussion Forum. Please use those (rather than individual emails). We follow a GitHub-based discussion approach so that our communications stay online for better visibility. We figured that this approach is better than mailing lists and Slack/Discord in preserving communications in an open-source spirit.
Please go through the project ideas carefully. Go through the provided links and repositories. Then, you should be able to do your own search for additional resources. For example, a Google Search on DICOM would give you more resources for learning about those. Once you have done those steps, if you ask specific questions, it will be easier to answer them.
It is difficult to receive answers to questions like "Please help me get started" or "Please share with me more resources" since those do not show effort (and require a larger effort from the mentor).
