How "view only" role works?

We recently upgrade from umami 1.40 to the latest 2.6.2 and we want to use the "view only" role and it seems that the documentation is not updated because only references about two roles (Administrator and User).

We tried to add a new user with the "view only" role and when we edit the users, the tab "Website" is empty with the message "no data available". We don't have the possiblity to assign the website that we want to grant permisions.

Can somebody guide me on how can we assign a website to a "view only" user?

Finally I found this solution:
I created a team and added the website that I want to grant acces. After that, I shared the "Access code" with the "view only" user.
