File is outside of Vite serving allow list when using linked module

Here is the case, I want to test my UI component library locally

In my library project (name it my-ui)

pnpm link --global

In my host project:

pnpm link --global my-ui

Show Error when running vite

The request url "/my-ui path/dist/es/index.mjs" is outside of Vite serving allow list.

Tried to use the method provided in official document

but it seems not the best practice for this case.

I'm having the same issue. My Vite project depends on an internal library which contains an SCSS stylesheet that references font files within @font-face { … } directives. I import the stylesheet in said Vite project. The library is listed in ssr.noExternal, so that the stylesheet is processed by Vite like any other code belonging to the project, which ensures the font file references are resolved correctly (i.e. they are treated as assets).

When pnpm install the library as usual, everything works fine in both dev and production mode. If I pnpm link the library, the production build still works as expected. However, the dev server complains about the font files being "outside of Vite serving allow list" when the browser attempts to access them.

Obviously, I would rather not like to modify server.fs.allow or server.fs.strict for something that's only relevant in dev mode and when linking the dependency.
